With a keen eye towards cutting edge trends and a willingness to break boundaries, Capitol-born style icon and District 12 Escort Effie Trinket has been a fashion pioneer since her very first Hunger Games. When it comes to the day-to-day, Effie likes to complement her exquisite full body polish with audacious garment selections paired with dazzling footwear such as the daring 24-Karat McQueen peep-toes she was recently spotted wearing in the City Circle. It’s no surprise Capitol designers are literally lining up to create her next pair. And who wouldn’t? When it comes to shoes, Effie’s got sole. “The higher the heel the better. I just love love love dropping by the City Circle in my perspex-heeled metallic booties!”

Citizens, it’s become pretty clear that a new up-and-comer has stolen the show this Hunger Games season — and we’re not talking about any tribute. Head Gamemaker Seneca Crane’s beard has become the talk of the Capitol, inspiring copy-cat creations all over town. While any old district citizen can pick up a razor, Capitol Couture went straight to the source - masterly make-up artist Ve Neill — to get an exclusive interview on how she crafted Panem’s best-tressed secret.

Using the Capitol or your home district as inspiration, we want you to put together a stunning outfit that will make you the standout of any Hunger Games viewing party — we’re talking about a look that would put even Effie to shame.
Submit your ideas below for a chance to win $750 Nordstrom gift card, presented in partnership with Moviefone. And remember, whether you design it yourself, put together a collage of pictures or simply yank the clothes right out of your closet, our judges need to see an image to make a decision. While there’s only one winner per District Style Challenge, the judges are still searching for more clever costumers to act as official Stylists. These chic citizens will receive a commemorative DIP in addition to having their work featured in an issue of Capitol Couture.
